Description
Produced from healthy equine blood through aseptic closed-system collection and microfiltration, this serum is a clear pale yellow liquid free from bacteria, fungi, and mycoplasma.
Horse Serum is broadly used as a blocking agent in immunoassays. Horse Serum contains more immunoglobulins than fetal bovine serum (FBS), has an increased protein content, and is a cost-effective alternative to fetal bovine serum.
Horse Serum is used for diagnostic assays, supplementation during mycoplasma growth, or for cultivation of hematopoietic stem cells and neuronal cells.
Application Areas
1. 10% of horse serum can maintain antibody response to sheep red blood cells (SRBC).
2. Horse serum is often combined with bovine serum or used alone as a supplement for mammalian cell culture, and has been used as a supplement for the culture of chromaffin cell tumors and retinal cells.
3. Suitable for cell and tissue culture, cell bank preservation, monoclonal antibody development, diagnostic tests, as a supplement to mycoplasma growth and test culture medium, and for the cultivation of hematopoietic stem cells and neurons.
